Why Should Product Goals Be Reevaluated Regularly?
The Scrum Guide defines the Product Goal as the long-term objective, but changing conditions may require reassessment. Sprint Reviews are held each Sprint with stakeholders to ensure alignment between user needs and business strategy.
Metaphor
Reevaluating a Product Goal is like checking a GPS route during a road trip — traffic, detours, or new destinations can make your original path obsolete. The shared trait is that conditions outside your control shift, so sticking blindly to the plan risks wasting time and fuel.
In Scrum, regular Sprint Reviews give teams and stakeholders a chance to adjust the Product Goal so it continues to reflect real user needs and business strategy.
