Prompted to Learn
Prompted to Learn is the name I’ve given to the system—and series of AI prompts—I use to fuel my continuous learning journey.
Every piece of learning material I consume—podcasts, online articles, books, YouTube videos—gets saved as a PDF. These PDFs are then fed into a two-prompt AI tutor system:
- The Extraction Prompt – Pulls out learning objectives directly from the PDF.
- The Tutor Prompt – Acts as an AI tutor, using only the provided PDF (to avoid hallucinations).
The tutor develops a rubric, asks me open-ended questions, and lets me work through responses in my own words. Once it’s confident I’ve explored the topic deeply enough, it shares the rubric and grades my responses.
I pair this with a Notion-powered spaced repetition system, revisiting areas where my answers were weak until my understanding solidifies.
