Why Do People Avoid Working on Weaknesses?
Many prefer to practice what they’re already good at rather than address areas that hold them back. This denial sustains blind spots.
Metaphor
Focusing only on strengths is like polishing the front windshield while ignoring the cracked side mirror. Both improve your view, but the neglected one still leaves you vulnerable to unseen dangers.
If people never address their weaknesses, those blind spots continue to undermine progress, regardless of how sharp their talents appear.
While completely ignoring weaknesses is unwise, over-focusing on weaknesses can be just as limiting.
